Director, IT Operations

Job Overview

DxTerity is looking for an experienced Director, IT Operations to oversee all Information Technology functions at our company. Our ideal candidate will oversee and manage the company’s technology operations and implementation of new IT systems and policies. The goal is to ensure security,  IT systems uptime, and business processes are all effective and functioning within the limits of time, budget, and specifications of our company. We seek creativity and resourcefulness in leveraging third party technologies and platforms to achieve business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

Manage Information Technology (IT) systems from laboratory information, clinical information systems, supply chain systems, research and scientific systems, and personal and team productivity solutions. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record of building relationships with external IT vendors and service providers. Must have strong knowledge of security systems and software solutions for healthcare data. Responsibilities include:

  • Benchmark and make recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems
  • Review the performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements
  • Ready organization for IT security audits or investigations
  • Manage security of network, systems, and enterprise information
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
  • Develop reliable metrics for hardware, software, and storage while ensuring strategic capacity planning
  • Oversee the operation of software development teams and Help and Support Desk functions
  • Direct and support implementation of software and hardware systems
  • Identify and recommend new technology solutions
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs

Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and experience managing systems for Security of Healthcare information including GDPR, HIPAA, FDA 21 CFR 11, and other related security systems
  • Strong experience in hybrid cloud and on-premise solutions
  • Bachelor’s Degree in programming, computer science, or related field
  • 6+ years of proven management experience in an IT environment
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Experience with Big Data and AI analytics
  • Outstanding communication abilities
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
  • Experience in enterprise technologies and knowledge of high compute
  • Active directory environments
  • G-suite & Office 365
  • Experience with Cloud Solutions and ITIL
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Experience in disaster recovery solutions
  • Experience in healthcare, clinical laboratories and Next-Gen sequencing
